DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE club captain Anwar Uddin has left Victoria Road to sign for League Two side Barnet.

Uddin, 28, joined Daggers from Bristol Rovers in 2004 and made 216 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals in the process.

The popular centre half suffered with injury during his last season at Victoria Road, and was restricted to just seven appearances, while he also had a spell on loan at Grays Athletic.

New Bees manager Mark Stimson said: "He is a strong defender with good experience and will be a big part of our team."

Uddin will link up again with former Daggers team-mate Glen Southam, who also moved to Underhill last week.
