SHOCK FOR THE BNP AS COUNCILLOR QUITS

A BNP councillor has quit the Barking and Dagenham Council, just weeks after the party's strong showing at the General Election.

Dan Kelley cited ill health as the reason for stepping aside after only seven months.

But colleagues said they were pleased to see him go, and nicknamed him "the invisible man".

In the past, Mr Kelley has said he felt like he was being treated like a "leper" by colleagues in the council chamber.

But in a letter to the POST, he said: "While I have much enjoyed working with residents, council officers and staff, my health has not allowed me to do the job that I would like to do for them and which they deserve.
