TOP OF THE CHOPS: The Tiger Tang Soo Do club
SIX COMBATANTS of a Barking and Dagenham martial arts club were crowned national champions in Cambridgeshire as the club showed their full potential.

The Tiger Tang Soo Do karate club, an alliance of Dagenham Park and Barking Abbey Schools, took 23 students to compete at the National Championships held in Huntingdon.

Competing in sparring, forms and weapons categories the students, aged between five and 45, won 22 individual medals and nine team trophies on a brilliant day of karate.

Adam Hussain, 7, Lee Turner, 9, Emma Shaw, 13, Kelly Lock, 16, Usman Iqbal, 23 and 36-year-old Zulfi Hussain claimed gold medals.

Pick of the group were Turner, Shaw and Iqbal who each won two gold medals apiece.

The club members returned to Dagenham with nine gold, 12 silver and eight bronze medals after a magnificent effort.

Competing for Tiger Tang Soo Do (pictured above) were Hollie Richardson, Lewis Rich-ardson, Abbie Harper, Hira Hussian, Miriam Hussain, Adam Hussain, Asad Hussain, George Turner, and Lee Turner.

Christopher West, Lauren Reason, Danny Reason, Georgia Steele, Omar Iqbal, Usman Iqbal, Jay Smith, Jeff Back, Zulfi Hussain, Marco Taviani, Emma Shaw, Kirstie Shaw, Kelly Lock and Danny Heath also took part.
