Sweet or savoury – that was the big discussion at Barking and Dagenham College as students tested their cookery skills for Pancake Day.

Learners Andrew O’Connell and Amy Hirst took to the kitchen of the college in Dagenham Road, Romford, to whip up some tasty treats this morning.
After successfully flipping their pancakes, the pair split when it came to deciding on fillings. Andrew, 18, went for a savoury pancake with a filling of chicken and bacon and cheese sauce.
Amy, 17, decided to indulge those with a sweet tooth and filled her pancake with raspberry coulis and sugar.
