Police are looking for a man who robbed and assaulted a woman at knife point in Dagenham.

The 47-year-old victim was walking along an alleyway, close to the Vue Cinema in Goresbrook Leisure Centre, at 6.50am on February 3, when the man approached her from behind and threatened her with a knife.

He then assaulted the woman and stole her handbag before making off along Richard Ryan Close, toward the Goresbrook Road area.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, between 5ft 5in and 5ft 8in tall, of slim build with light blue or green eyes wearing a light blue hooded top.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of the Goresbrook Leisure Park or Goresbrook Road at the time who saw a man fitting this description. Call 0208 345 2935 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
