A BROTHER and sister have suffered the same cruel twist of fate by being born with a fatal genetic disorder which will kill them before they reach adulthood.
John and Bridie Philpott, aged 11 and nine, are the only two known carriers of a rare strand of the neurological disorder in the UK.
This devastating irony means that little funding is available for research into the Variant Late Infantile strand of Batten Disease, for which there is currently no cure.
